Summary
Lucid is seeking a Facility Senior Mechanical Engineer expert in Mechanical Design and Engineering, with at least +15 years of commercial | industrial construction experience. Previous experience working within Industrial facilities is a plus. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the Design and Engineering of all above and Underground Mechanical systems in one of the company's most sizable projects, coordinating electrical efforts with a large team ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Manage & oversee all Mechanical system design and Engineering with the Project Designer to ensure Lucid's requirements are fully considered.
Direct and coordinate with Lucid's trade contractors and their subcontractors, to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule that includes but is not limited to:
HVAC system
Fire, Life & Safety systems (fire suppression)
Compressed Air network
Plumbing networks
Natural Gas systems
Familiarity with legal, safety, and regulatory code requirements (PSHSR, Fire Codes, Electrical Codes, Building Codes).
Complete understanding and familiarity with calculating, sizing, and selecting mechanical equipment and infrastructure including but not limited to Chillers, AHU, FCU, Pumps, Fans, pipes, etc.
Monitor site progress, identifying potential trade-specific risks and challenges, and propose effective solutions to save time and reduce rework efforts.
Test and commission all mechanical systems ensuring they meet all specifications.
Oversee and supervise the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
Review and approve Mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
Review and develop the designs that are cost-effective and code compliant.
Work closely with the civil team and other trades to ensure flawless coordination between trades on-site.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Respond to RFIs that relate to any technical design clarifications in relation to compliance with the design intent and quality.
Oversee the project quality plan and implement necessary changes.
Requirements
BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
15+ years of experience on a construction project in a similar role.
Proficient in various electrical design related software such as Dia lux, ETAPS, REVIT, and AutoCAD.
Qualifications
Capable of managing Large / Complex projects and field teams ($175M+).
Strong technical and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.
Must possess the ability to participate in presentations.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, Autodesk cloud, A site.
Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan.
Ability to create an environment where safety first is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury-free attitude.
