Job Purpose:
A Logistics Manager, specifically an EMV (Equipment, Machinery, and Vehicle) Manager, is responsible for the overall utilization and maintenance of the firm's vehicles, equipment, and machinery. This includes scheduling and managing personnel for the maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery, equipment, and vehicles for various construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures proper implementation of all Company procedures within the logistics department.
- Assists the Project Managers in the development of project-specific EMV Procedures if required.
- Responsible for specifying the needs of the EMV presence in projects based on the conditions of each project.
- Supervises the process of setting up the EMV workshops on sites to enable smooth commencement and continuation of project activities.
- Monitors the operation of all Company's equipment and miscellaneous service equipment through various control measures to ensure optimum operational status and deployment.
- Assumes responsibility for Project Mobilization.
- Reviews Project Contract and Plant List and arranges for the necessary logistics for transferring plants to specific project sites.
- Carries out analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for rectification of variances or irregularities.
- Manages maintenance and workshop activities and fulfills repair requests from projects and sites in coordination with the resource optimization manager.
- Ensures all maintenance tasks are performed and completed in a safe and timely manner.
- Assigns work to perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machines and prepares maintenance schedules and plans.
- Ensures that all equipment is maintained, repaired, returned, and installed to production status, and that all safety procedures are followed properly.
- Assesses all repairs thoroughly to ensure that all replacement parts and any necessary spares kept in inventory are ordered in a timely manner.
- Maintains a flexible maintenance management system in coordination with IT functions.
- Provides and produces periodic reports on operational costs and condition of equipment as needed.
- Analyses different technical studies to decide whether to repair or buy a piece of equipment.
- Assists procurement function in equipment specifications, purchase requests, and evaluates technical proposals from suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 15 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 7 years in the same position with Saudi Aramco Pipeline projects.
Strong leadership skills, negotiation abilities, analytical skills, and attention to detail are essential.
Exceptional communication skills are required.
Candidates must have experience in EMV from the GCC region, particularly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
