Senior IT Network & Telecom Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Senior IT Network and Telecom Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the organization’s network and telecommunications infrastructure, utilizing their working knowledge in many of the relevant technologies to ensure optimal reliability and performance of supported IT solutions at JHAH.

Operational Roles & Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, maintain, support, and monitor the organization's IT network and telecommunications infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless access points, LAN, WAN, VPN, IPT, VoIP, videoconferencing, collaboration platforms, and other digital communications resources to ensure they are reliable, stable, scalable, secure, and perform optimally.
• Perform regular IT network and telecom infrastructure capacity and bandwidth assessments to plan for any projected increase or decrease in utilization of resources.
• Ensure that IT network and telecom infrastructure complies with relevant best practices, regulatory requirements, enterprise architecture standards, governance programs, and cybersecurity policies.
• Manage engagements with contracted vendors for IT network and telecom infrastructure support, managed services, or professional services to ensure that service delivery meets the targeted scope, time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Investigate and resolve IT network and telecom infrastructure related incidents in compliance with the organization's relevant policies and procedures.
• Fulfill IT network and telecom infrastructure related service requests in compliance with the organization's relevant policies and procedures.
• Evaluate and process IT demand requests involving IT network and telecom infrastructure and support fulfillment of those that are approved in compliance with relevant policies and procedures and by following the organization's IT project management framework.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in the field of Information Technology or in a relevant field.

Professional Certifications Required

Sample of preferred certifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
• Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS).
• CompTIA Network+.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Project Management Professional (PMP).
• IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
