Responsibilities

  1. Interface and coordinate with Civil Defence or Local Authority, Contractors, and Clients to obtain all required certificates for occupancy with regard to Fire Protection and Fire Life Safety.
  2. Manage Testing and Commissioning Program for this discipline.
  3. Apply the company commissioning approach and philosophy to on-going projects.
  4. Be cognizant of business opportunities with current clients both in terms of new work and current contract changes in scope.
  5. Understand and apply the project contract to the execution of the work.
  6. Utilize the master commissioning document library for creation of project specific inspection checklists and test forms under the guidance of a Commissioning Manager.
  7. Understand and apply the project Commissioning Plan in the execution of the work.
  8. Independently conduct commissionability reviews of project documents.
  9. Independently conduct construction progress inspections.
  10. Independently conduct commissioning inspections and execute commissioning tests based on documented procedures.
  11. Identify system conditions that are abnormal, determine their cause, and recommend corrective actions.
  12. Execute work in a manner compliant with the project budget and schedule.
  13. Perform all other activities as required of a Commissioning Engineer.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 7 years work experience partnered with a Diploma in Safety or Bachelor degree in Safety or Engineering. Chartered status with Nebosh Certificate (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
