Job Description

The Senior Draftsman organizes, plans, maintains, and supervises the documentation of the structural drawings, submittals, and schedules in coordination with the architecture and MEP works. This position also creates and reviews high-quality, error-free production engineering shop drawings for standard and custom fixtures from customer-approved submittals.

Responsibilities include:

1. Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on sketches, specifications, and design requirements.
2. Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards, regulations, and project specifications, making revisions as necessary.
3. Coordinate drafting activities with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
4. Provide guidance, support, and training to junior draftsmen, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance and productivity.
5. Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements, maintaining consistency and accuracy across all deliverables.
6. Perform quality checks on drafts, identifying errors, inconsistencies, and discrepancies, and implementing corrective measures to maintain high-quality standards.
7. Organize and maintain drawing files, records, and documentation, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility for project teams and stakeholders.
8. Oversee the production of drawings, including printing, plotting, and distribution, ensuring timely delivery to support project timelines and milestones.
9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to integrate design changes, resolve conflicts, and ensure design coherence.
10. Stay updated on CAD software advancements, drafting techniques, and industry trends, implementing improvements and efficiencies in drafting processes and workflows.

Required qualifications include:

1. Proficiency in financial analysis techniques to assess project costs, analyze budget variances, and identify trends, supporting informed decision-making and cost optimization strategies.
2. Knowledge of budgeting principles and techniques to develop, monitor, and manage project budgets effectively, ensuring accurate financial planning and allocation of resources.
3. Understanding of accounting principles and practices, including cost accounting methods and financial reporting standards, to maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements.
4. Strong data analysis skills to collect, organize, and analyze financial data from various sources, identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies to inform cost control measures and strategic planning.
5. Effective communication skills to collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and team members, conveying financial information clearly, presenting analysis findings, and providing recommendations for cost management and optimization.
6. ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role.

Desired Candidate Profile

Job Experience

Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years in GCC is a plus.
