Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer

We are partnering with one of the leading System Company in Dubai. We are looking for a Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer.

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

1. Technical support of Cloud, On-Premises, and Hybrid services
2. Design and implement changes into the systems
3. Maintain and enhance internal tools to improve service industrialization for Cloud and On-Premises services
4. Provide technical guidance for new or evolution of services and for consolidated technical analyses
5. Lead the optimization of service reliability, performance, and security
6. Provide technical direction when CAB requires tier II input, expertise or changes with high-risk impacts on customer SLA
7. Responsible for product and technical knowledge ramp-up of the Tier II Support team
8. Participate in the definition of production requirements
9. Manage performance. Track and report critical supply and demand metrics. Use data to optimize processes, creatively solve problems, and track results
10. Participate in the preparation and review of technical product & customer specific documentation
11. Maintain all technical documentation up to date and with quality
12. Participate in the 24/7 shift rotation in the team
13. Install and configure the solution on hardware or VMware
14. Integrate the solution at the customer site or hosted, connecting with customer backend or core network elements
15. Write some technical documentation
16. Review the customer acceptance plan documents and update if needed
17. Assist the development and validation team during the project
18. Provide visibility to Validation Technical Leader and Project Manager on his/her work progress (actual and estimated time to complete tasks)
19. Execute the acceptance test plan with the customers
20. Write the Operation and Maintenance Guide (OMG)

Profile / Requirements :

Mandatory skills :

1. Unix systems - Has to have basic Linux experience (at least 1 year using Linux). Needs to know basic Linux commands (ps, netstat, rsync, netcat, umask)
2. Shell or Python or Perl scripting programming - Needs to be able to read & understand basic shell scripts. Has to be autonomous in one of the 3 languages for Linux tasks automation (bash, python, perl)
3. Semi-optional – at least one should be autonomous :
1. Network - Understands IPv4 protocol (network size, broadcast, default gateway). Knows how packet routing works (able to configure static route or default gateway)
2. SQL Language - Should be able to write SQL queries (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE). Should be able to do table joins and filter out the necessary values
3. Apache and other web servers - Understands apache virtual hosts concept, is able to configure basic proxy setup and understand Directory / Location directives
4. Has experience with SSL certificates configuration and knows the difference between Basic / Mutual authentication
