Senior Design Manager

We are seeking a Senior Design Manager Aviation to lead the design and technical execution of a high-profile aviation project in Riyadh. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, oversee multi-disciplinary design teams, and ensure project delivery aligns with international aviation standards and best practices.

Position Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full design lifecycle of aviation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with ICAO, FAA, and GACAR (preferred) regulations.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary design teams, ensuring seamless coordination between airside, landside, and terminal infrastructure design.
• Act as the primary technical authority for all design-related matters, ensuring quality, innovation, and sustainability in design solutions.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, and internal teams, to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Implement and maintain certified management systems while driving continuous improvement and design excellence.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to design managers and engineering teams.
• Support project planning, budgeting, risk management, and technical bid preparation.

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in aviation infrastructure design and project management, with a strong portfolio of major airport projects.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary aviation design teams.
• Proven track record in leading projects from concept to execution within an engineering consulting environment.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong leadership and strategic decision-making abilities.
• Deep expertise in airport planning, airfield design, and aviation regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and risk management skills.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to high-level stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AviPlan, and other aviation design software.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in Airport Planning, Engineering, or Project Management (preferred).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status is required.
