Senior Credit & Risk Analyst

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our client, a Fintech start-up company in Saudi Arabia. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the management of credit and market risks within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

Role Overview
As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company’s assets by conducting thorough quantitative and qualitative credit assessments of counterparties. You will also propose appropriate credit risk mitigation strategies and provide key recommendations to management. This role requires strict adherence to the company’s credit risk policies and operating procedures, while actively contributing to the company’s risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Credit Evaluations: Conduct detailed credit evaluations of financial and non-financial counterparties, ensuring comprehensive analysis of their financial health and risk exposure.
  2. Financial Qualification: Assess the financial qualifications of service providers for new projects, ensuring that they meet the company’s risk requirements.
  3. Financial Analysis & Risk Modeling: Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, utilizing the company’s internal credit model to derive accurate credit ratings.
  4. Transaction Risk Management: Ensure new business transactions and associated risks are defined, captured, and managed in line with the company’s risk methodologies and systems.
  5. Credit Limits & Database Management: Maintain approved credit limits and ratings within the company’s credit database to ensure up-to-date information.
  6. Market Monitoring: Actively monitor changes in counterparty credit ratings, market trends, and economic developments to identify potential risks.
  7. Stress Testing: Perform stress testing on various portfolios to identify and mitigate unwanted exposure and reduce risk.
  8. Policy Review & Alignment: Review and update policies, procedures, and ensure alignment of risk policies across the organization.
  9. Management Reporting: Assist in the preparation and consolidation of reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations on credit risk.
  10. Ad-Hoc Tasks: Complete any assigned ad-hoc tasks and assist in special projects as directed by management.

Requirements
  1. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced business qualification is preferred.
  2. Certifications: Professional certifications such as FRM, ERP, CMA, or CFA are highly preferred.
  3. Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk management, particularly in fintech, banking, or financial services.
  4. Credit Risk Models: Hands-on experience in the implementation and application of credit risk models and scoring systems.
  5. Financial Analysis Expertise: Extensive experience in analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other financial data.
  6. Deadline Management: Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while providing well-documented and actionable credit risk recommendations to senior management.
  7. Advanced Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build and manage Excel-based financial models.
  8. Risk Analysis Expertise: Experience in conducting risk analysis and due diligence on industries, market conditions, and competitors.
  9. Collaboration & Negotiation: Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, legal, finance) to negotiate credit terms, resolve disputes, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of the latest financial regulations and risk management practices within the fintech sector.
  2. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data to non-expert stakeholders.
