Responsibilities:

1. The Field Engineer reports to the Technical Services Manager and serves as the main liaison between contractor(s) and the home office engineering, ensuring contractors have all related information required to carry out the works appropriately in relation to their specific discipline.
2. Provides technical/engineering support and advice to construction work, responds to technical queries, reviews technical documents, and follows up to rectify gaps or problems.
3. Participate in field site review(s) prior to the start of construction activities and verify documentation is available for construction start.
4. Coordinate with Engineering regarding the technical approval of all General Contractor’s submittal documentation.
5. Coordinate and monitor design documents issuance to ensure continuity of construction activities.
6. Review and respond to field technical queries, preparing, submitting and following up on RFIs concerning his field of expertise.
7. Provides technical support to Field Personnel and Contractors regarding interpretation of design documents and procedures within their field of experience.
8. Provide technical assistance to QA/QC and Project Controls to ensure contractors and suppliers satisfy all technical requirements for their respective scopes.
9. Provides constructability input to engineering as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
10. Provide technical input, review and complete all Field Change Notices, Non-Conformance and RFI reports.
11. Participate as Technical Expert during audits for discipline-related activities and review and comment on contractor's method statements.
12. Identify and elevate potential changes in contract scope.
13. Provide Construction Engineering input to the Project Completion Report.
14. Support control at site, technical approvals and problem resolution.
15. Monitor the development of “As Built” Drawings.
16. Provide spot surveillance of craft discipline to ensure high quality standards of workmanship are maintained.
17. Audit the Contractor’s ‘As-Built’ drawing records.
18. Where necessary, provide off-site support.

Qualifications:

A recognized and relevant engineering degree and relevant industry experience.
