The Infrastructure Civil Engineer will be responsible for the design, planning, execution, and management of civil infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, including roads, bridges, tunnels, water supply, and drainage systems. The role involves working closely with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required standards. Knowledge of local regulations and experience in working on infrastructure development in Saudi Arabia is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Design:
Develop and review civil infrastructure project designs, including roads, bridges, utilities, and public facilities.
Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies in various regions of Saudi Arabia to assess project requirements.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for accurate project designs.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Permits:
Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and safety standards.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local municipalities and authorities.
Ensure the project complies with environmental regulations and sustainability practices specific to the region.
3. Project Execution & Management:
Manage project timelines and resources to ensure the completion of civil engineering works within set deadlines.
Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring work quality and adherence to design specifications.
Resolve design and construction challenges promptly, coordinating closely with contractors and stakeholders.
4. Cost Management:
Develop cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
Assist in procurement processes for local suppliers and contractors in Saudi Arabia.
Liaise with government agencies, local contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
Regularly update stakeholders and management on project progress, risks, and potential delays.
Conduct site meetings with cross-functional teams to address project developments and solve on-site challenges.
6. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Ensure all construction activities meet Saudi Arabia's health, safety, and environmental standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective measures when necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, especially in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
Hands-on experience managing civil engineering projects such as roads, drainage, and utility installations.
Familiarity with Saudi Arabian construction regulations and standards.
Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus.
Skills:
Strong technical expertise in civil engineering design and project management.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools.
Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic (preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
Primarily based on-site at various project locations across Saudi Arabia, with occasional office work for planning and reporting.
Frequent travel to project sites within the country, including remote areas.
Occasional collaboration with international teams and suppliers.
