Job Description

1. Ensure that all security systems function smoothly. Initiate immediate corrective action when a fault is detected.
2. Assist Management, employees, and guests in every way that is consistent with the protection and prevention objectives.
3. Coordinate with various departments and government agencies on routine matters and during emergencies.
4. Monitor back of house areas with particular attention to unauthorized entry and exit points.
5. Maintain records in respective Log Books for future reference.
6. Keep Manager or Crisis Management Team informed on the latest developments of the situation in a crisis.
7. Conduct inventory on keys, passes, walkie-talkies, pagers, and all other accountable stock.
8. Ensure the cleanliness of the Hotel Security Room and the surrounding areas.
9. Be fully conversant with hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
10. Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times.
11. Be flexible with shift working times as per operational requirements.
12. Receive materials and equipment from suppliers with the finance team.
13. Attend all briefings, meetings, and training as assigned by management.
14. Report for duty on time wearing a clean and complete uniform at all times.
15. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
16. Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.
17. Take tours around the hotel and all facilities every 2 hours.
18. Cover colleagues during breaks.
19. Check the crisis team members list for each shift to ensure all information is available for emergency cases.
20. Assist the billman with wake-up call requests if guests do not answer.
21. Make a daily report with all details during the day submitted to the security manager before the end of the day.
22. Monitor all hotel operations, follow up on any security cases, solve problems, and report immediately.
23. Monitor guests and staff on duty to ensure everything runs smoothly around the hotel.
24. Check all parking areas to ensure nothing is blocking the way.

Qualifications

1. Post-secondary school education with professional security qualifications preferred.
2. Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in a similar role in a 5-star hotel, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
