Security Shift Supervisor
Job description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage security personnel during assigned shifts.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct shift briefings and debriefings, providing clear instructions and updates.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of security staff, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and access control systems.
- Identify and report potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Respond to and manage security incidents and emergencies.
- Investigate security breaches, thefts, and other incidents, preparing detailed reports.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and actions taken.
- Provide training and guidance to security personnel on security procedures and best practices.
- Ensure all security staff are properly trained and certified.
- Promote a culture of safety and security awareness among staff and visitors.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and monitor access control measures to restrict unauthorized access.
- Communicate effectively with management, security staff, and other departments.
- Liaise with external agencies, contractors, and suppliers regarding security matters.
- Coordinate with department heads and staff to address security concerns.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to security programs and initiatives.
- Participate in safety committees and contribute to the continuous improvement of security standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security management is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or in a similar role.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Familiarity with security protocols, procedures, and equipment.
- Physical fitness and the ability to patrol the premises as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., security officer license) are required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
