Job Summary:

The Security and Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all employees, visitors, and property within the organization. This role involves supervising security personnel, implementing safety protocols, and managing emergency procedures to minimize risks and maintain a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Management:
  • Lead and supervise the security team, ensuring all members are adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assign security personnel to patrol, monitor, and enforce safety protocols across the premises.
  • Security and Safety Operations:
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to security and safety.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and coordinate responses to any suspicious activity or incidents.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of buildings and grounds, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Act as the first responder to any emergency situations, including fire, medical, or security-related incidents.
  • Coordinate evacuation procedures and ensure all staff are informed and prepared for emergency situations.
  • Training and Compliance:
  • Conduct regular training sessions for security personnel on protocols, emergency response, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and organizational policies relating to workplace safety and security.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on incidents, safety inspections, and security operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of security activities, logs, and safety audits.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Human Resources and Facilities Management, to ensure comprehensive safety measures are in place.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed for ongoing security operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree or certification in security management, safety, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in security or safety management, with a proven track record in supervision and emergency response.
  • Practical experience in security and safety operations within a similar industry.
  • Certifications:
  • Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar certifications are required.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, make quick decisions, and manage crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of security systems, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on security needs.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods, perform physical tasks, and remain alert at all times.
