About This Opportunity

As a Sales Trainer, you will report directly to the Sales Training Manager. You will work with a team of Sales Trainers, Content Managers, and the local management team to drive the EMEA Sales Training Transformation Plan to enable and support the development needs of Align Technology's commercial teams.

In this role you will lead the knowledge and skill development to enhance sales knowledge and selling skills capabilities by means of sales training and assessment. You will provide training for commercial teams focused on new hires (<6 months) and the incumbent sales teams where required (>6 months) via the Sales Training Transformation Plan.

In this role, you will

  • Lead on the Sales Training Transformation Plan to develop sales competencies in Selling Skills, Product, Competition & Market, Process & Systems for new hires (>6 months) reducing the speed to proficiency for commercial sales.
  • Own the Sales Training Transformation training plan for New Hires to ensure required standards are met and New Hires are effectively onboarded in their first six months.
  • Deliver continuity training according to the Sales Training Transformation Plan and conduct relevant knowledge and skill assessments to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Conduct infield coaching with Sales Representatives in the first six months to assess sales capability based on the Transformation Plan and infield coaching form.
  • Provide a safe learning environment for all learners and particularly for existing Sales Representatives (>6 months) returning to Transformation Plan Training to upskill/re-train.
  • Train the incumbent sales team revisiting training to close knowledge or skills gap.
  • Develop Sales Training Transformation Plan training calendar for new hires and incumbent sales team and communicate as required.
  • Provide sales training according to the globally defined Sales Competencies.
  • Train according to the defined Sales Process within the Selling Skills Framework.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to deliver and regionalize content from EMEA based on current business needs and priorities.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement principles, tools, and techniques to training practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of product, process and systems and call upon subject matter experts to support with training and/or to fill knowledge gaps.
  • Support Area Sales Managers with infield coaching for incumbent sales team when the ASM has identified a skill or knowledge gap (via established co-travels).
  • Work with the Management Team to prioritize the Sales Training strategy to deliver on strategic priorities.
  • Review and measure the effectiveness of Sales Training to track knowledge and skill levels of new hires and mandatory Sales Training for incumbent sellers.
  • Collaborate with the EMEA Content Team to produce course materials and other support documents to ensure the delivery of high-quality training.
  • Review course evaluation feedback, and course outcomes; and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis to assess, monitor and adapt training accordingly.
  • Champion a culture of adult learning that can be tracked, measured, and reported.

In this role, you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in sales/marketing or training.
  • 5+ years of experience, including:
  • 2-3 years experience within a sales function
  • 3-5 years experience with a training specialty
  • A solid knowledge of MS Office applications including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders within the wider business.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills.
  • Self-starting, hands-on mentality with a pro-active mindset, able to work independently while consulting and involving relevant stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • A team player - willing to support others and be flexible.
  • Ability to travel across Middle East and to EMEA HQ and other markets when required.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/medical sales training preferred.
  • Fluency in local market language and English.
