Day-to-Day Activities of a Sales Manager

  1. Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients. Conducting sales calls, meetings, and site visits to showcase the hotel's facilities and services.
  2. Sales Strategy and Planning: Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Analyzing market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  3. Managing Sales Activities: Participating in sales calls with team members to acquire new business and close deals. Generating proposals, writing contracts, and handling customer correspondence.
  4. Event Coordination: Working closely with the events team to ensure smooth execution of booked events. Providing accurate and complete turnover to the event management team.
  5. Revenue Management: Identifying new business opportunities to achieve personal and location revenue goals. Understanding market conditions and adjusting sales strategies accordingly.
  6. Customer Service Excellence: Ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. Interacting with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  7. Reporting and Documentation: Preparing and submitting sales reports, forecasts, and budgets. Maintaining accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions.
  8. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments to ensure coordinated efforts in achieving sales goals. Participating in team meetings and sharing insights to improve sales performance.

Skills and Qualities Needed

  1. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, team members, and other departments.
  2. Sales and Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in sales techniques and the ability to close deals successfully.
  3. Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks and maintaining detailed records efficiently.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  5. Market Knowledge: Understanding market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

Working as a Sales Manager in an international luxury hotel requires a combination of strong communication, organizational, and sales skills. This role is essential for driving revenue and ensuring the hotel's success in a competitive market.

What we need from you

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration.
  • Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role.
  • International luxury hotel chain background.
  • GCC exposure.
  • English Fluency is required.
  • Arabic Fluency is preferred.

This may involve taking on additional responsibilities as needed, especially during periods of high occupancy or in emergency situations.
