Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
2. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
3. Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery, etc.).
4. Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
5. Review existing policies and update them in accordance with legislation and best practices.
6. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify causes and recommend corrective actions.
7. Organize and conduct safety training courses for employees.
8. Keep records of inspections, training, and incidents.
9. Ensure equipment and machinery are adequately maintained and safe for use.
10. Compile reports on health and safety data and present to management.

Requirements:

1. Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or similar role for a Minimum 5 years.
2. NEBOSH certification required.
3. In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures.
4. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
5. Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
6. Outstanding organizational skills.
7. Diligent with great attention to detail.
8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
9. BSc/BA in safety management, engineering or a relevant field is preferred; Certificate in occupational health and safety is an advantage.
