Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct weekly and monthly safety inspections by visiting the plant areas and checking all maintenance, operation, and contractor activities to ensure the implementation of all safety instructions. Provide the daily safety inspection report including safety observations with their status. Take part in the “On-Call Duty” and participate in Safety Campaigns Activities.
  2. Initiate, plan, and conduct special safety inspections and develop safety reports & recommendations as required to mitigate risks.
  3. Participate in various levels of Internal Safety Audits, External Safety Audits, Insurance surveys, Management Walkthroughs, Special Reviews, and prepare reports whenever required.
  4. Provide technical consultancy to PR departments by participating in DSCM, FSCM, PSSR, MCC, QMSR, and Risk Assessments as required by Corporate Risk Management Standard.
  5. Participate & provide support in incident analysis and investigation, including process incidents and near misses as required. Review and follow up on the CSMS SAP System. Advise on verification of COCs whenever required.
  6. Support PR Departments in establishing and implementing Safety KPIs, Annual Safety Goals, and Objectives. Provide safety statistics for the Section/Department and prepare dashboards for KPIs. Attend Functional and Departmental Safety Committee Meetings.
  7. Participate in the necessary measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of any assigned safety management programs or procedures developed or modifications necessary to achieve optimum results.
  8. Develop safety rules and policies in compliance with legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Once approved, communicate to maintenance and operations personnel to ensure awareness of the company safety standards.
  9. Develop and promote on- and off-job safety education material and programs for all Company employees.
  10. Develop and recommend safety standards, codes, and procedures that become part of the operating instructions of the Company.
  11. Review international Safety Management System standards and ensure compliance of PRC CSMS.
  12. Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Safety Manager, Section Heads, and Senior Engineer.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  2. 5-12 years of experience in the field of safety engineering.
  3. Professional certification in a field related to loss prevention such as CSP, NEBOSH, CFPS, etc.
  4. Experience in Safety Management System International Standards.
  5. Experience in Safety Management applications such as Incident Investigation, MOC, PHA, etc.
  6. Expertise in fire and safety engineering standards such as HCIS-SAF, NFPA, API, IBC, etc.
  7. Expertise in applying root cause analysis in process-related incident investigations.
