Job Purpose:

The Route to Market (RTM) Safety Officer is committed to obtaining safety goals through continuous improvement and implementation of the RTM plan. This role advises management on operations and safety investment strategies. The officer applies knowledge of systemic safety principles to analyze, assess, and present safety data, as well as to plan, implement, and evaluate RTM safety programs and processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that all operations, including shipping and delivery, meet environment and safety standards.
  2. Ensure compliance of RTM (Warehouses, Distribution, Logistics, Commercial and Third Party RTM) with regulatory requirements and company EOHS policies.
  3. Develop, implement and communicate the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Saudi Arabia standards and policies of safety management system and road safety.
  4. Hold the responsibility of implementing the safety measures for the RTM.
  5. Support operations in the implementation of the Safety RTM strategy.
  6. Actively promote health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example for other employees and ensuring awareness among stakeholders.
  7. Identify risks and opportunities, report them, and take the necessary mitigation and prevention controls.
  8. Share best practices identified in terms of RTM with operations.
  9. Define and monitor leading and lagging indicators that measure the effectiveness and efficiencies of plans.
  10. Conduct safety audits of the distribution centers.
  11. Conduct a training needs analysis and deliver the required training to employees.
  12. Communicate safety procedures and protocols with stakeholders.
  13. Conduct road safety auditing.
  14. Investigate road and onsite accidents and analyze the findings.
  15. Develop and design traffic management guidelines.
  16. Develop a journey risk assessment.
  17. Prepare and report professional reports.
  18. Work with the team to ensure delivery of continuous improvement.
  19. Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.

Experience:

Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role, preferably within the beverages, logistics, distribution, or transportation sectors.

Skills and Attributes:

  1. Proficient in safe driving techniques and defensive driving practices.
  2. Certified in first aid and emergency response.
  3. Knowledgeable in firefighting procedures and fire safety protocols.
  4. Understanding of electrical safety standards and practices.
  5. Skilled in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  6. Strong leadership abilities, capable of guiding and motivating teams.
  7. Experienced in Train the Trainer (TTT) programs, able to effectively train and educate others on safety procedures.

Work Environment:

The RTM Safety Officer will primarily work in an office environment but will also spend significant time in the field conducting safety inspections and audits. The role may require occasional travel to various RTM locations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, and inspect facilities for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry safety equipment and materials as needed.
