Regional Transportation Manager

Job Summary:

The Regional Transportation Manager is responsible for leading and managing all transportation operations across assigned regions. This includes supervising transport staff, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries, maintaining fleet performance, and ensuring full compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation operations across assigned geographies.
• Ensure on-time delivery of goods to the correct locations.
• Implement and enforce operational policies, including safety procedures for goods handling.
• Manage the dispatching, routing, and real-time tracking of delivery vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with all transport-related policies, procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Investigate and resolve customer or shipper complaints escalated beyond the Transportation Supervisor level.
• Negotiate and approve contracts with equipment and materials suppliers; monitor contract performance in coordination with procurement involved in strategic development and strategy making for your assets.
• Contribute to the development of long-term transportation strategies and asset optimization.
• Oversee maintenance and servicing schedules for the entire transport fleet.
• Promote a culture of safety through audits, staff engagement, and regular participation in safety meetings.
• Coordinate closely with Regional Warehouse Managers to ensure seamless interdepartmental operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, MIS, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Transportation or Logistics field.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to analyze and resolve moderate to complex operational challenges.
• In-depth knowledge of road transport methods, including cost-efficiency and logistics best practices.
• Solid understanding of transport operational systems.
• Knowledge in fleet and route planning and optimization.
