Job Overview


The R&M (Repair & Maintenance) Manager is responsible for leading and managing the repair and maintenance operations within the assigned location, ensuring that equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role focuses on achieving key performance indicators (KPIs), driving operational excellence, implementing preventative maintenance programs, managing personnel development, and supporting customer operations. The R&M Manager will play a critical role in aligning maintenance strategies with corporate objectives, promoting continuous improvement, and fostering a high-performance culture within the team.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead, supervise, and manage the maintenance team to achieve KPIs, operational goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Weatherford's safety, quality, and compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs for a wide range of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, including downhole tools and data acquisition systems.
  • Oversee the root cause analysis (RCA) process for equipment failures and customer complaints, ensuring appropriate corrective actions and closure of Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs).
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support to operations, resolving customer complaints related to service quality and equipment performance.
  • Guide and support junior R&M personnel in complex troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and repair tasks.
  • Forecast inventory requirements and collaborate with the R&M Planner to ensure accurate and efficient production planning.
  • Manage the requisition of parts, tools, and equipment in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Lead daily shop meetings to review progress, identify deviations, and define corrective actions to achieve daily operational targets related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Evaluate and audit workshop performance, quality, and efficiency through regular inspections and adherence to operating procedures.
  • Manage accurate completion and tracking of Work Orders, forms, repair requests, checklists, and ensure correct time-tracking of maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Logistics) to align maintenance processes, asset readiness, and tool deployment strategies.
  • Implement modern repair technologies and industry best practices to improve operational efficiency and reduce fulfillment costs.
  • Drive multi-skilling of maintenance personnel to enhance flexibility and support the evolving maintenance strategy.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies in collaboration with HR and Training & Development.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure financial accountability by managing maintenance costs within budget and aligning inventory requirements without creating excess stock.

Skills:


  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Management, Continuous Improvement, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with ERP and Maintenance Management Systems.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Oilfield Services, or Business discipline.
  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of operational, functional, or country management experience within the oilfield services industry.
  • Minimum 5 -10 years in leadership or managerial roles, preferably in repair & maintenance operations.
  • Certification or training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
  • Training in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards is preferred.
