Quality Inspector (Heat Treatment Shop)

The Quality Inspector with a heat treatment background is responsible for ensuring that heat-treated components meet the required quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting materials and processes, conducting tests, and collaborating with production teams to maintain high quality throughout the heat treatment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection of Heat-Treated Components: Conduct detailed inspections of heat-treated materials and components to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Testing Procedures: Perform mechanical and metallurgical tests, such as hardness testing, tensile testing, and microstructural analysis, to assess the properties of heat-treated products.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough records of inspection results, test findings, and any quality deviations. Prepare reports for management and quality assurance review.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor heat treatment processes to ensure adherence to established parameters and standards, identifying any deviations or issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with process engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Quality Control Procedures: Assist in developing and refining quality control procedures specific to heat treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide training and support to production staff on quality inspection techniques and the importance of quality in heat-treated products.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance product quality and reduce defects in heat treatment processes.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a heat treatment or manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of heat treatment processes, metallurgy, and relevant inspection techniques.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical skills with a focus on precision and accuracy in inspections and reporting.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation of findings.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify quality issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
