Quality Inspector (Casting Shop)

The Quality Inspector with a casting background is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of cast products throughout the production process. This role involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and collaborating with production teams to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection of Castings: Conduct thorough inspections of cast products at various stages of production, including raw castings and finished products, to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Testing and Analysis: Perform mechanical and chemical tests on cast materials to assess properties such as tensile strength, hardness, and composition.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and any quality deviations. Prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Quality Control Procedures: Assist in the development and refinement of quality control procedures specific to casting processes, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
• Training: Provide guidance and training to production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and the importance of maintaining quality throughout the casting process.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for enhancing product quality and reducing defects in the casting process.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a casting or foundry environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of casting processes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques relevant to the casting industry.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in inspections and reporting.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation of findings.
