JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview:
The Civil Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all civil construction activities on-site, ensuring that work complies with Aramco standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. This role involves managing subcontractors, coordinating with the project team, and ensuring the timely completion of civil works. The position demands extensive experience in civil construction and project management on Aramco projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise the construction, installation, and testing of civil infrastructure, including earthworks, concrete works, foundations, roads, and structural steel.
Ensure all civil works comply with Aramco standards, international codes, and project specifications.
Coordinate with project engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to ensure the timely and efficient execution of civil tasks.
Conduct daily inspections to ensure quality control, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with safety regulations.
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all civil works, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
Review and approve civil-related method statements, work permits, and documentation.
Monitor progress and resolve any technical challenges on-site to maintain project continuity.
Ensure proper site preparation, including grading, excavation, backfilling, and the laying of infrastructure.
Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and project engineers to address and resolve any civil construction issues.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
A technical diploma with extensive experience in civil construction may be considered.
Experience:
10–15 years of experience in civil construction and supervision within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or EPC sectors.
At least 5 years of experience working on Aramco projects, with a solid understanding of Aramco’s civil standards and procedures.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale civil works, including earthworks, concrete, structural steel, and foundations.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of civil construction techniques, materials, and standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, or Aramco standards).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, site layouts, and structural blueprints.
Experience in concrete testing, soil compaction testing, and other quality control measures for civil works.
Knowledge of grading, excavation, backfilling, and the installation of underground utilities.
Ability to manage and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during civil activities.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership skills to manage teams of civil engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project stakeholders and ensure clear reporting.
Problem-solving abilities to handle on-site challenges and ensure smooth project execution.
Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control and safety protocols.
Certifications:
Aramco Work Permit Receiver certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety training.
Additional certifications in construction management or civil engineering are advantageous.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to relocate and work in Saudi Arabia for the duration of the project.
Familiarity with Saudi visa and employment regulations.
Physically fit to handle the demands of a construction site environment.
