Role Summary:
In this role you will perform documented inspections in the verification of conformance of parts to applicable drawings, procedures, specifications and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The QC Inspector is responsible for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to customer’s and Flowserve’s specifications and international standards. Besides, the QC Inspector is responsible for defining, advising and controlling all project required QC documents. The QC Inspector reports directly to the QC Supervisor/Manager.
Your Role:
- Interpret product drawings, valve specification, inspection and test plan and applicable procedures.
- Perform test and inspection:
- Perform in-process inspection, review/verify actual material heat number, traceability sheet/traveler and test certificates.
- Conduct dimensional and appearance inspection of finished parts and finished goods using various measuring tools. Ensure that all product releases comply with Engineering drawing, Specification sheet, ITP and procedures.
- Witness pressure testing and functional testing of valves.
- Perform NDE on components as per Quality code and industrial standard.
- Ensure that material certification for valve/actuator package complies with Inspection and Test plan, valve specification, Bill of Materials, Drawings, project requirements and applicable industry standards. Inspection records shall comply with company procedure and policy.
- Review Route Cards taking into consideration shop processes and assist with processing product ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain high level of housekeeping.
- Issue NCR, Corrective Action Request to product and system non-conformance, through QualityQuest.
- Support Customer Complaints/escapes problem solving and be able to present results to customer.
- Comply with SHEA policy and procedures, report policy violation and hazards, initiate stop work as appropriate.
Your Profile:
- HS Diploma/GED and 3-5 years Quality control experience in industrial valve manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of welding, NDE and quality systems. Preferably has valid ASNT NDE level II RT, UT, VT, LP certification.
- Pass visual acuity assessment on reading of Jaeger 1 at not less than 30 cm, can distinguish and differentiate contrast between colors or shades of gray.
- Knowledge of the established quality standards, laws and regulations of national and international authorities.
- Must have knowledge of inspection equipment generally found in machining, assembly and test operations.
- Effective utilization of CMMs is a plus.
- Flexible, eager to learn, accurate, analytical with positive, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel.
- Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
