Job description

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Monitoring and implementation of QMS Procedures, PQP, ITP & method statements and reporting deviations from management system / contractual requirements of the projects.
  2. Verifying that all necessary inspections and tests, as required of the project and statutory regulations, are carried out and appropriate records are updated and maintained.
  3. Coordinating quality activities with subcontractors and any other individual parties who may be working on the same site.
  4. Coordination with clients / third party, in accordance with approved ITP, for agreed witness inspections & tests.
  5. Ensuring close-out of all snags / punch-points within the time frame agreed with the client.
  6. Reviewing and performing material receiving inspection as per company and client requirements, applicable standards / specifications etc.
  7. Performing assigned in-process and final products inspection and tests.
  8. Reviewing Sub contractor Hot tap procedure.
  9. Monitoring Installation of Piping systems and pipeline for U/G, A/G Piping in either C/S, S/S, Aluminum, RTR, PVC, CPVC, GRE, GRVE, GRUP etc and verifying the related QC documentation.
  10. Preparing inspection & test reports of completed inspections & tests.
  11. Ensuring all equipment, tools and materials meet with the project quality requirements and that personnel have been adequately trained to use them safely.
  12. Identification of non-calibrated equipment and informing Subcontractor QC for expediting arrangements with Calibration agencies for timely calibration of the equipment.
  13. Liaison with client representative concerning quality matters on site.
  14. Demonstrate working knowledge of codes, as required by the scope of work, such as ASME Sec I, V, VIII and IX, ANSI B31.3/4/8 and API 620/650 and AWS D1.1, required for the execution of the inspection work.
  15. Identifying near misses and nonconformities in materials, products, processes, procedures and reporting the near miss / nonconformities in the near miss / nonconformity report.
  16. Verification of implementation of corrective & preventive actions against the nonconformities and reporting results to line managers.
  17. Preparation of final quality dossiers / test packs and maintaining backups of completed quality dossiers / test packs.
  18. Submitting weekly report and requested information / statistics to Department QC Supervisor.
  19. Liaison with QAQC Supervisor/ QAQC Manager for all aspects of quality.

Skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Diploma holder or higher qualification in Welding, Piping/ Mechanical– bachelor’s degree holder preferred.
  2. Have knowledge in welding inspection and fabrication of modular, piping and vessels to international codes (ASME, AWS) would be beneficial.
  3. Have experience and thorough knowledge of codes such as ANSI B31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME section I, and other piping system installation related codes and standards.
  4. Have experience of piping and support installation and associated trades e.g. insulation, painting etc.
  5. 10 years of experience in Construction on industrial gases, oil & gas or related industry projects which should be construction site based.
  6. Strong communicator written and oral.
  7. Organized, disciplined, able to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and parallel tasks.
  8. Strong Microsoft software skills, particularly Excel.
  9. Report writing skills.
  10. Experience of working in a multicultural project team.
