QA/QC Engineer

The QA/QC Engineer ensures that work/projects are delivered based on good work practices and project specifications to guarantee completion of work within the given time limits with quality of work that meets or even exceeds the clients' expectations by implementing international quality standards plans and quality procedures in all the construction activities. Assists in developing the Project Quality Management System by establishing procedures, plans, and work instruction as needed.

1. Assist Project QA/QC Manager or Sr. QA/QC Engineer on implementing quality management system at site as per approved Project Quality Plan and IMS Procedures.
2. Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit to consultant to ensure it covers all the construction activities done on site.
3. Check all incoming materials as per project specifications and approved material submittals.
4. Monitor WIRs and test reports and update the Quality Manager and site team on the status.
5. Establish and monitor control of QA/QC Plans, Method of Statements and Test Plans before commencement of the project and implement it during the project in order to meet the project quality requirements and client’s expectations.
6. Ensure that control of document procedures is implemented and all approved documents from consultant are distributed through the document control system.
7. Check Inspection and Test Plan if available and ensure all method statements and test plans are submitted for the consultant as per the approved ITP plan.
8. Verify if work inspections are carried out as per the plan and advise the construction team for corrective action to avoid the rejection of work.
9. Inspect all materials internally before offering inspection to the consultant, raising the NCR to the supplier in case substandard material is delivered.
10. Monitor WIR and test reports, updating relevant teams about the current job status.
11. Maintain records of all work and material inspection and provide data in weekly progress meetings.
12. Record all test results and ensure availability of mill certificates.
13. Ensure logs are maintained along with test reports for all types of tests as per the approved testing matrix.
14. Check concrete pour cards are maintained on a daily basis.

Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc. Technical experience in dealing with various QC issues. Knowledge of local employment laws/regulations sufficient to analyze proposed policies. In-depth knowledge on the Quality Management System (QMS) or Integrated Management System (IMS). ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement for success in this role.

Minimum 5 years working experience, with 3 years relevant working experience, and 2 years in GCC being a plus.

Professional degree in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent) or ASQC certification (CQM/CQE). Bachelor's Degree in any related field or Civil Engineering.
