Objective:
The Project Management Analyst is responsible for planning, executing, and managing technology projects within ASMO under the guidance of the IT PMO Manager. Their primary goal is to ensure that projects are completed successfully, on time, within budget, and meet the specified objectives. The role holder will have knowledge of the rules, procedures and in some cases, the principles and practices within the IT Project Management discipline. They will be tasked with selectively extracting, verifying, and compiling objective and measurable data. In some instances, they may determine the course of action based on established principles and modify existing processes and methods.
General Responsibilities:
- Contribute to defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Help develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and budget allocation, and help identify project risks, constraints, and dependencies.
- Coordinate project activities, assign tasks, and manage the project team to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Manage changes, assess their impact, and make necessary adjustments to project plan.
- Allocate appropriate resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to support project activities; coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure resource availability and utilization.
- Identify project stakeholders, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Ensure that project deliverables meet the defined standards; conduct quality reviews and address any deviations or non-compliance.
- Monitor and track project performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor project expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Provide periodic project status report indicating % of completion, milestone achieved, risk, issue and other relevant information.
- Control critical path, contingencies, scope changes and budget for projects.
- Ensure proper project closure by documenting lessons learned, conducting post-implementation reviews, and transitioning project deliverables to operational teams.
- Evaluate project success against predefined objectives and key performance indicators.
- Recommend training and development interventions for team members to build their capabilities.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Implement all relevant IT Strategy & Governance department's policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, information technology or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
- Master's degree in project management, computer science, information technology or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or any other relevant certification preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
