TROJENA (The Mountains of NEOM) will be an iconic, world-class destination, blending natural and developed landscapes and will offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia in the region of Tabuk just 50km from the coast, TROJENA will be a destination like no other on earth. Based upon the principles of eco-tourism, facilities will include a folded vertical village, a lake with water sports and event facilities, high altitude ski village, observatory, world-leading health and wellbeing facilities, and a nature reserve which will be home to unique wildlife, heritage sites, and exploration opportunities.

With over 3,600 hotels, 2,200 homes, 9 iconic buildings, and 100 world-class indoor and outdoor experiences, Trojena will become the ultimate mountain destination. Bechtel will provide a full range of project management services to assist in the delivery of this iconic destination.

Job Summary:

Project Engineering Lead will be responsible for the coordination of Architectural Design tasks and Landscape Architecture associated with the development of the NEOM Mountain region. This role is responsible for coordinating the scope and integration of work assigned to subcontracted design entities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of layout techniques, procedures, and criteria for Architectural designs of buildings, facilities, and structures.
  • Prepare conceptual design studies, reports, proposals, value engineering studies, or alternate technical concepts.
  • Prepare contractual documents such as Scope of Work and Request for Proposal.
  • Coordinate and integrate design work between the architectural discipline, engineering disciplines, and other design entities.
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders to make presentations, define project layout requirements, and obtain contractual and statutory approvals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A recognized Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university with a minimum experience of 15 years.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Professional Architects Registration, US, or ARB with RIBA, or other internationally recognized equivalent is required.
  • Understanding of experiential accommodation, including mountain slope residences, lifestyle management resorts, energy & wellness centers, etc. Significant and proven experience working as an architect in planning luxury resorts and hotels for at least 10 years. Relevant experience in the KSA and MENA region and familiarity with the cultural norms of the region.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, presenting to customers, and working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Experienced with integrating sustainability rating requirements into the design and construction to achieve green building certification for projects. LEED Accredited Professional or equivalent.
  • Familiar with discipline-specific Autodesk Design suite (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in the use and application of relevant business software, GIS programs, Photoshop, and 3D SketchUp.
