Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories provides complete power system protection, control, monitoring, automation, security, and integration for utilities and industries worldwide. We are looking for a Project Engineer - Automation to provide technical support to customers and join our team! A successful candidate must:

1. Develop a technical proposal and estimation sheet for SPS solution (LSS/GCS/Microgrid/RAS).
2. Be capable of reading and understanding RFQ and Tender documents.
3. Be well familiar with GCS coding, Microgrid controller, and RAS coding.
4. Master Codsys/IEC61131.
5. Able to mentor automation engineers to continue developing their skills in coding and design documents.
6. Lead and perform the GCS Project pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
7. Have excellent knowledge to execute all SPS projects.

As a Project Engineer - Automation, a typical day might include the following:

1. Possessing, understanding, and applying the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of power system automation and related SEL products.
2. Training and assisting customers with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of automation systems.
3. Preparing and maintaining detailed design documents, reports, checklists, test reports, and deliverables.
4. Participating in the preparation of functional design specifications.
5. Leading in assigning, completing, and implementing work within agreed upon scope, schedule, and budget to a high level of quality and safety.

1. You possess a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
2. You have an interest in electric power systems and protective relay applications.
3. You are open to travel both domestically and internationally at least 40%.
4. You want to gain experience with power transmission, distribution, or generation systems.
5. You are interested in expanding your knowledge by learning new skills and assuming new responsibilities to grow into the role of an independent engineer.
6. You enjoy working cooperatively in a team environment.
