Project Engineer

Job Purpose

Develop and administer Technical Engineering plans and programs to facilitate out-of-gauge cargo movements, either ad hoc or as part of a longer project in line with business strategy and objectives, guidelines and policies.

Key Tasks

• Develop and administer Technical Engineering plans and programs to facilitate out-of-gauge cargo movements, either ad hoc or as part of a longer project.
• Generate visualizations of proposed solutions in CAD software.
• Develop and formulate technical work packages, including engineering design and analysis related to out-of-gauge cargo transportation and handling.
• Prepare technical documents to support bid responses.
• Perform review and validation of subcontractor plans, method statements, and heavylift manuals.
• Research and evaluate development of new products and procedures and assist in laying out project specifications.
• Attend client meetings to convey technical concepts and designs.
• Follow industry standards and best practices for handling and transportation of cargo.
• Prioritize and coordinate all necessary engineering work and ensure company standards.

Stakeholders

• Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties, e.g., external service providers.
• May convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
• Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees.

Management Responsibility

• Individual contributor without direct responsibility for leading others.
• May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs.
• Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals.
