Production Operator III (All Shifts)

Job Description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator III is responsible for ensuring that production lines have raw materials for operation, conducting changeovers, operating process equipment, and performing related duties. They will maintain production records and ensure standard operating procedures are being followed. Compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

Fill Room Operator

1. Conduct quality checks – weight and crimp width and depth
2. Read and follow batch ticket and spec sheet
3. Verify concentrate is correct against batch ticket
4. Make in-process adjustments to filler machine
5. Perform line changeovers
6. Follow safety and quality standards
7. Fill out quality paperwork for shift
8. Keep work area clean and orderly; remove trash

Label Operator

1. Set up and run label equipment
2. Changeover of labels
3. Responsible for inventory and upkeep of labels
4. Daily maintenance of area and equipment
5. Ability to read and follow spec sheet
6. Follow safety and quality standards
7. Ensure proper labels are on correct cans
8. Stage upcoming production runs
9. Keep work area clean and orderly; remove trash

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. At least 18 years of age
2. High School Graduate or GED
3. Demonstrated successful work experience
4. Good hand-eye coordination
5. Must be able to work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays

Additional Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher is a plus
2. Effective verbal and written English communication skills are necessary to read and follow spec sheets
3. Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment
4. Changeover experience with mechanical aptitude
5. 3 years of changeover experience and ability to make minor mechanical adjustments to machines
6. Able to work overtime and nights as required

1. Ability to work well under minimal supervision
2. Must read, write, and understand English
3. Attention to detail, organizational ability, and ability to interact well with others
4. Must be able to operate basic hand tools

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment
2. Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work, such as climbing, lifting objects up to 50 lbs, and pushing/pulling objects
3. Ability to stand for long periods of time
4. Able to work in extreme temperatures
