As a Production Equipment Technician, you will ensure the efficient operation and reliability of pharmaceutical manufacturing/Packaging equipment. This role involves performing routine inspections, diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules specific to equipment. The technician ensures compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory standards, maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, and manages inventory of critical parts.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out routine maintenance of all manufacturing, filling, labelling, and packaging machines.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule.
- Carry out electrical checks periodically as per written procedure.
- Develop the existing and introduce new PPM routines to minimize breakdown time.
- Carry out machine Changeovers and set up as agreed with the production.
- Carry out day to day trouble shooting and rectification of faults.
- Carry out minor electrical & mechanical trouble shooting and rectification.
- Work with electrical & mechanical professionals for any electrical/mechanical breakdowns.
- Ensure the use of CMMS system to record all routine and incidental maintenance, review breakdown history and update the PPM routines as preventative measure.
- Operate to new and established SOPs designed to ensure that all related systems and engineering documentation are kept up to date and meet the current GSK standards.
- Ensure that all authored SOPs are kept up to date.
- Fabricate small machine elements using workshop machines.
- Ensure that all tools and test equipment are kept in a safe and calibrated state prior to use.
- Work out spare part inventory to support maintenance plan.
- Help procurement by dealing with local part-manufacturer/supplier technically.
- Implement authorized modification and machine development work and inform machine owner with the quick benefits from the suggested changes.
- Erection, installation, commissioning of new equipment.
- Ensure the machines validation documentation books are kept up to date.
- Ensure that the raised engineering Change control are implemented and completed as authorized and work closely with other team members as and when required.
- Ensure that machines O & M manuals are kept updated and available at point of use.
- Contribute /Develop Standard Operating Procedures as per requirement.
- Carry out training to machine operator.
- Attend and positively respond to training courses to improve work skills.
- Ensure that at all times the training record is kept up to date and in readiness for audit.
- Stand in for other equipment maintenance supervisor.
- Ensure internal/external audits readiness and complete actions/recommendations as agreed.
- Actively contribute to OE activities and cost saving projects either within or outside area of responsibility.
- Ensure the reporting of abnormal incidents, conditions or near misses that may result in damage to other GSK staff, property or reputation.
- Comply with all related GQPs requirement and work in shifts whenever required.
- Carry on trouble shooting for equipment and be on call whenever required.
- Ensure full familiarity and implementation of all applicable GSK Corporate Governance Policies.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent diploma with decent years of experience.
- Fluent level of English language.
- Fluent level of computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Fluent knowledge of GMP.
- 5-10 years experience.
- Good knowledge of EHS.
