Role Overview:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required by the company, ensuring they are obtained at the best prices, highest quality, and within the required timeframe. This role involves sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure seamless business operations in compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Managing Procurement Processes:
Identify the company’s needs for materials, equipment, and services in coordination with different departments.
Source qualified suppliers and conduct market research to compare prices and quality.
Prepare purchase requests and ensure execution within the approved budget.
Negotiation and Supplier Management:
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
Draft contracts and purchase agreements and ensure compliance with their terms.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and improve service levels.
Ensuring Compliance and Quality:
Ensure that all purchases meet company standards and quality requirements.
Monitor the receipt of goods and verify their compliance with specifications.
Address any issues related to product quality or delivery delays.
Data Management and Reporting:
Constantly update data.
Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and suppliers.
Prepare periodic reports on costs, expenditures, and market trends analysis.
Suggest improvements to procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the same industry.
Required Skills:
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build good relationships with suppliers.
Good knowledge of procurement procedures and best practices.
Analytical skills and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
