Process Engineer

Hiring: This position will be hired through a Contractor (Not Air Products or JIGPC Direct Hire)

Duration: This job opportunity is 18-24 months

Work Cycle: 6 days a week, 60 hours

Annual Leave: 21 working days and there will be flexibility to utilize them.

Other Details: Accommodation and Transportation are not provided but you will be paid the allowances so that you can manage by your own.

Summary

The Jazan IGCC is the world's largest IGCC facility processing up to 100,000 BPD of vacuum residue to generate 2100 MMSCFD syngas used for H2, steam, and 3.8 GW of power generation. The facility is located in the Jazan Economic City, in the province of Jazan, KSA. JIGPC will commission, start-up and operate the Jazan IGCC facility.

Facilities and assets under JIGPC will include:

1. Process Units: Shell Residue Gasification; Soot & Ash Recovery; Rectisol Acid Gas Removal; Sour Water Stripping; Membrane and PSA Hydrogen Recovery from the produced syngas; Claus Sulphur Recovery including SCOT treatment of the tail gas.
2. Combined Cycle Power Generation: Syngas fired Gas Turbines, HRSGs, Steam Turbines and Process Steam Systems
3. Water Treatment: including Desalination (reverse osmosis), Ion Exchange (Polisher and Condensate Treatment) and all Boiler Feed Water Preparation for a Syngas-fired Combined Cycle Power Plant, which will include the production of steam for all process units at site.
4. Wastewater Treatment: including Oil Removal, Decyanidation Process, Multiflo/Actiflo Metals Removal and MBBR Treatment to achieve RO feed specification
5. Utilities: including Sea Water Cooling, Closed Cooling Water Systems, Fuel Gas Systems, Chilled Water, and Flare Header System.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The requirements below are the minimum requirements for the Process Engineering positions:

1. Engineering graduate with >9 years of relevant experience in chemical engineering or related field relevant to the JIGPC plant.
2. Must be able to obtain a Saudi visa/IQAMA, and be willing to work in Jazan, KSA.
3. Be a good communicator with the ability to provide written reports or presentations of technical work to a variety of audiences.
4. Have a solid understanding of fundamentals of chemical process and reaction engineering and thermodynamics.
5. Candidates should also possess demonstrated math, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and ability to reason logically and systematically and communicate this clearly.
6. Emphasis placed on safety, teamwork, and aptitude toward challenging work.
7. High proficiency in English speaking and writing.
8. Good interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization.
9. Have a keen interest to learn and use this to improve the operation of the IGCC facility.

Additional Requirements for Senior Process Engineering Roles

1. Have a minimum of 15 years experience, including in plant engineering and operations support.
2. Have in-depth experience with one or more of the processes and technologies utilized in the facility.
3. Have experience with managing project process documentation, including P&IDs; functional logic tables; alarm and trip settings; critical safety tables; control strategies; and operating procedures/training manuals through commissioning, startup, and operation.
4. Have knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to Oil and Gas and Refining Industries (API, ISA, NEC / IEC, NFPA, ASME, etc.) and preferably also Saudi Aramco standards and working practices will be an advantage.
5. Be a strong and effective leader of a team of process engineers or a dedicated multi-disciplinary technical task force.
6. Be a good communicator with the ability to develop written procedures, reports, and executive reports & presentations of technical work to a variety of audiences.
7. Have strong Process Safety Management experience.
8. Have strong planning, coordination, and risk management skills.
9. Have the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
10. Knowledge and understanding of local statutory/regulatory requirements.
11. Ideally have knowledge of Saudi Aramco specifications and standards.
