Job Description

AtkinsRéalis are currently looking for a qualified Principal Transport Planner to join our Transport Advisory Planning Practice in the Middle East based in Riyadh, KSA.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead and contribute to a variety of transport planning studies including large scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies or multi-disciplinary planning projects in the public and private sectors.
2. Technical delivery and management of small, medium and large-scale transport assignments with minimal supervision.
3. Work closely with Project Managers and other AtkinsRéalis departmental staff to ensure timely completion of the necessary analysis, reports and plans.
4. Prepare high-quality written reports and technical analyses.
5. Advise the client and stakeholders on transportation matters.
6. Represent the Transportation Team whilst interacting with internal clients, as well as external stakeholders/statutory authorities.
7. Ensure deliverables adhere to prevailing QA/QS and document management protocols.
8. Application of technical competencies and sharing these with junior staff.

Qualifications:

Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or equivalent. MSc and/or chartered status.

Essential Requirements:

1. Minimum of degree in planning or transportation and 10+ years related professional work experience.
2. Candidates based in KSA will be preferred.
3. Arabic language proficiency is advantageous.
4. Working experience of industry standard transportation modelling software such as VISUM/VISSIM & SATURN.
5. Hands-on experience in junction/capacity analysis software such as SIDRA & SYNCHRO.
6. Experience in delivering transportation projects within a multi-disciplinary technical environment.
7. Competency in a range of transportation planning skills.
8. Previous Middle East or Gulf experience (minimum 5 years).
9. Excellent communication in written and spoken English.
10. Experience in project/financial management.
11. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
12. Must be willing to travel internationally.
