Downe House Riyadh opened in September 2022. It is the first premium British private all-girls’ school (Boys Pre-School-Year 4) for 3-18 year olds to be established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Active participation in, and a positive mindset towards, co-curricular activities is the expected norm for all our staff.

The Position - Primary Class Teacher (KS1)
Downe House Riyadh is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Class Teacher with a passion for building strong foundations in core subjects, including Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities. As a Primary Class Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in nurturing pupils’ curiosity, fostering critical thinking, and embedding essential skills to support their long-term academic journey, underpinned by the Downe House DNA Values.

With many pupils developing English as an Additional Language (EAL), you’ll implement strategies that support language acquisition alongside academic growth, ensuring all students can access and thrive in the curriculum. If you are committed to inspiring a love for learning, instilling confidence, and guiding students in their early educational experiences, we invite you to join our dedicated team.

The Person

Please note only female candidates will be considered as Downe House Riyadh operates an all-female working environment.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  1. Delivers well-planned, engaging and creative learning experiences for their pupils.
  2. Delivers an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant programme, using effective adaptive teaching strategies for all pupils in their care.
  3. Always sets high expectations, which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils, fostering a growth mindset.
  4. Ensures excellent pastoral care.
  5. Contributes to the co-curricular programme and whole-school activities in a committed and enthusiastic manner.
  6. Works co-operatively and supportively with all members of staff.
  7. Has a positive and flexible attitude and is prepared to go the extra mile.

In return

We understand that teaching can be demanding and intense, and while we can't completely eliminate those challenges, we offer a supportive working environment. A school where your professionalism is highly valued, and we believe that by empowering you, we foster your growth and development.

As you would expect, Downe House Riyadh offers a competitive salary package. This would be discussed in more detail with shortlisted candidates.
