The project:
This opportunity is to be involved in a major mixed-use development, in Riyadh. The programme consists of over 200 projects including cultural and heritage assets, F&B, retail and hotels, commercial buildings and educational facilities.
The PMO delivery director is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects and programs within the project management office (PMO). This individual will ensure that all projects align with organisational objectives, are delivered on time, and meet the established quality standards. The PMO delivery director will drive the strategic direction of the delivery function within the PMO, advise, guide and support PMC project managers, and implement best practices to ensure efficient project execution across the portfolio.
This role is typically office-based, with travel to project sites or client locations. The PMO delivery director may be required to work beyond regular office hours to meet project deadlines or address urgent issues.
The PMO delivery director reports to the programme director.
You’ll be responsible for:
Strategic leadership.
Working with the existing Mace PMO SLT and key Programme stakeholders to develop and implement the strategic vision for the PMO delivery function in alignment with organisational objectives.
Review, develop, implement and maintain project management standards, processes, and methodologies.
Ensure the PMO project delivery function aligns with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Facilitate interface workshops across PMC’s and project teams in line with DGCL’s prioritization list.
Advise on alternative construction techniques, buying strategies and sequencing with a view of improving completion dates or reducing budget.
Advise in the management of construction related risk across the portfolio including mitigating the impact of threats, enhancing opportunities or resolution of issues in a timely manner.
Lead the PMO Delivery function, implementing best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.
Project delivery management.
Oversee the development of an integrated portfolio baseline (scope, cost and time) and ensure teams manage change in a timely manner to ensure the baseline reflects the scope being delivered.
Oversee the performance of the portfolio of projects, providing performance insights to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
Monitor project progress and performance, providing guidance and support to project managers.
Identify and mitigate risks and issues and enhance opportunities impacting project delivery.
Work with the existing PMO team to prioritize interfaces and drive resolution between projects to derisk the schedule.
Team leadership and development.
Mentor and develop a team of PMC’s/project managers and PMO staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Provide regular feedback, coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.
Stakeholder management.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders effectively, together with recommendations for performance enhancement.
Resource management.
Allocate and manage resources effectively to safeguard successful project delivery.
Monitor and prioritise resource utilization and capacity planning to optimize project outcomes.
Ensure the PMO has deployed the necessary tools, systems and resources to support reporting on project delivery.
You’ll need to have:
A relevant degree qualification in project management.
Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business.
Proven experience in construction management and delivery with track record of successfully managing and delivering complex project and programmes.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and best practices.
Professional membership i.e., MRICS or moving towards fellowship or equivalent demonstrable professional development.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
