Planning Engineer

Job Summary

You will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for HV cable installations in the offshore marine sector. The role requires a deep understanding of high-voltage cable systems, project management, and the unique challenges associated with offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
2. Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
3. Identify project dependencies, critical paths, and potential risks.
4. Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and update forecasts.
5. Prepare and present regular project progress reports, highlighting key achievements, deviations, and corrective actions.
6. Conduct regular schedule reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project plans.
7. Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
8. Maintain a risk register and update it regularly to reflect the current project status.
9. Implement risk management processes to minimize project impact.
10. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and other departments to ensure timely availability of resources.
11. Manage resource allocation and utilization to optimize project efficiency.
12. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to communicate project status and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
2. Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable.
3. Extensive experience (10-15 years) in planning and scheduling for HV cable projects within the offshore marine sector.
4. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
5. Strong understanding of HV cable systems, offshore installation techniques, and marine operations.
6. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
