Planning Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare master project schedules using specialized software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project in alignment with the scope of work and the approved budget.
• Develop detailed schedules covering all project phases including design, permits, execution, procurement, and delivery.
• Analyze activity relationships and determine the Critical Path to ensure on-time project delivery.
• Review and update the project schedule regularly to reflect changes and updates.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports showing completion percentages, time variances, and comparisons with the baseline schedule.
• Coordinate schedules with various project teams such as engineering, construction, procurement, and finance to ensure workflow integration.
• Analyze project delays and provide technical solutions to bring the project back on track.
• Participate in coordination meetings with contractors and consultants to ensure schedule alignment and updates.
• Develop alternative scenarios in case of delays or scope changes, and propose acceleration plans when needed.
• Monitor schedule integration with resources (labor, materials, equipment) and identify planning gaps.
• Prepare organizational structures and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to facilitate schedule management and performance monitoring.
• Provide technical support to project management for short- and long-term planning to ensure work progresses in line with strategic vision.
• Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to time and ensure compliance.
• Present analytical reports to senior management highlighting schedule adherence and reasons for deviations.

• Coordination with all departments for relevant arrangements.

• Coordination with all external parties involved in executing required tasks.

Required Competencies at Hiring

Educational Level:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Required Technical Knowledge:

• Proficiency in planning tools and software (Primavera, AutoCAD).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multi-task projects.
• Strong communication and effective presentation skills.
• Good understanding of project management fundamentals and engineering concepts.

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and provide suitable solutions.

Language Requirements:

• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
