Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Coordination:
    • Supervise a team of pipe fitters, welders, in the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems.
    • Coordinate daily activities and work schedules to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
    • Monitor work progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality standards and complies with the project's technical specifications.
    • Conduct inspections to verify proper installation of piping systems, including supports, hangers, and valves.
    • Perform or oversee testing of systems (pressure tests, leak tests, etc.).
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
    • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and ensure workers follow safety protocols.
    • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards at the construction site.
    • Maintain a safe working environment by conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ensuring proper use of PPE.
  • Material and Resource Management:
    • Ensure the timely delivery of materials required for the piping construction activities.
    • Manage tools, equipment, and machinery used by the team, ensuring proper maintenance and safe operation.
    • Work closely with procurement to address material shortages or project needs.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including daily progress reports, inspections, and test results.
    • Report on project status, issues, and delays to senior management.
    • Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and quality control procedures.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
    • Troubleshoot issues related to piping installations and provide effective solutions to minimize delays.
    • Review and resolve any design, layout, or system issues that may arise during construction.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, engineers, and other supervisors to ensure the project runs smoothly.
    • Collaborate with other trades (e.g., electrical, mechanical) to ensure integrated system installation.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Construction or relevant.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in piping construction, in a supervisory role.
    • Proven experience managing teams on large-scale construction projects.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong knowledge of piping systems, including installation, welding, and testing procedures.
    • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API).
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to use construction software and tools for scheduling and reporting (preferred).
  • Certifications (optional):
    • Construction Safety Certification (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, etc.).
    • Welding certification (if applicable).
