Job Description:

The Piping Supervisor requires the following skills and qualifications:

1. Excellent construction site management skills
2. Piping Design, P&ID and Isometrics.
3. Excellent scheduling and contract management skills
4. In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, etc.)
5. In-depth knowledge about scheduling software (P6 or Project) and Microsoft Excel
6. Knowledge of construction tools and equipment such as structural drawings, piping materials, surveys, budgets, permits, safety aspects, and so on
7. Mechanical piping, supports, hanger and welding installations for A/G
8. Provide technical and supervisory support, guidance, and mentoring to the Sub-Contractor construction team
9. Determine manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for the craft
10. Evaluate and collaborate with other groups for piping support installation, small and large bore pipe installation, insulation activities along with flushing and pressure testing
11. Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in construction activities within the piping discipline
12. Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication and installation, pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing, and mechanical completion
13. Support, promote, and champion a positive safety culture and ensure all parties are reminded of expectations with regards to safety being the number one priority.
14. Monitor permit and safe plan of action compliance.
15. Continuously observe and monitor the interface of all construction activities for all disciplines, assisting in managing contractor in resolving any interface coordination issues
16. Ensure safety requirements of the project are being met by all parties by supporting and encouraging safe work practices.
17. Encourage and promote communication and teamwork
18. Monitor the daily working plan and review the work accomplished by each craft.
19. Ensure the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
20. Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
21. Monitor manpower, tools, and equipment usage on the site
22. Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
23. Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas
24. Assist in review and appraisal of method statements and risk assessments for technical content and safety considerations.
25. Supervise the contractor in the execution of the works, to ensure project quality requirements and standards are met including monitoring of contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s)
26. Be prepared to work shift patterns (day or night)
27. Assist in system walkdowns with contractor and client
28. Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings
29. Assist in managing contractor to monitor progress & productivity being reported by contractors
30. Assist the AP Construction Manager in developing detailed reporting of assessment of works and contractor performance.

The required Education and Experience:

1. BS degree in Engineering
2. 5-10 years of experience in the industry
