The Piping Supervisor requires the following skills and qualifications:
Excellent construction site management skills
Piping Design, P&ID and Isometrics
Excellent scheduling and contract management skills
In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of scheduling software (P6 or Project) and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of construction tools and equipment such as structural drawings, piping materials, surveys, budgets, permits, safety aspects, etc.
Mechanical piping, supports, hanger and welding installations for A/G
Provide technical and supervisory support, guidance, and mentoring to the Sub-Contractor construction team
Determine manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for the craft
Evaluate and collaborate with other groups for piping support installation, small and large bore pipe installation, insulation activities, along with flushing and pressure testing
Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in construction activities within the piping discipline
Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication and installation, pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing, and mechanical completion
Support, promote, and champion a positive safety culture and ensure all parties are reminded of expectations regarding safety being the number one priority
Monitor permit and safe plan of action compliance
Continuously observe and monitor the interface of all construction activities for all disciplines, assisting in managing contractor in resolving any interface coordination issues
Ensure safety requirements of the project are being met by all parties by supporting and encouraging safe work practices
Encourage and promote communication and teamwork
Monitor the daily working plan and review the work accomplished by each craft
Ensure the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast
Monitor manpower, tools, and equipment usage on the site
Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules
Coordinate activities with other disciplines or areas
Assist in review and appraisal of method statements and risk assessments for technical content and safety considerations
Supervise the contractor's execution of the works to ensure project quality requirements and standards are met, including monitoring of contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s)
Be prepared to work shift patterns (day or night)
Assist in system walkdowns with contractor and client
Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings
Assist managing contractor to monitor progress and productivity being reported by contractors
Assist AP Construction Manager in developing detailed reporting of assessment of works and contractor performance
