Job description

Job Purpose:

To handle assigned duties in morgue area.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  1. To support fully the area of work and to participate in the provision of an effective and efficient 24-hour service.
  2. Responsible for registering all information in MOH with all details needed.
  3. Receive dead bodies from inside the hospital and place them in the morgue freezer.
  4. Receive amputated organs from inside the hospital and coordinate agencies for burial.
  5. Handle dead patients to their relatives after finishing all needed processes and documents.
  6. Keep copies of all documents needed in the morgue filing area.
  7. Check the maintenance and housekeeping schedule of the morgue equipment on a daily basis.
  8. Arrange with mosques for transportation and Islamic washing ceremonies for Muslim deceased patients.
  9. Arrange for washing infected bodies for Muslim deceased patients in the hospital.
  10. Arrange for delivering infected bodies to Islamic cemeteries for burial after washing.
  11. Ensure that all precautions are applied based on infection control regulations.
  12. Communicate with any government agencies like police or embassies if needed.
  13. Coordinate with forensic Medicine in Alshumaisi to receive unnatural death bodies and non-Muslims.
  14. Elicit information from patients and their relatives in a courteous manner, providing guidance and assistance as appropriate.
  15. Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with MOH and KAAUH regulations and guidelines and coordinate with other departments.
  16. Provide monthly statistics of the processes done to the department manager.
  17. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor in Ambulatory Services.
  18. Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and privacy for the patient’s information.
  19. Respect patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
  20. Participate in and support quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of the team.
  21. Perform other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications and Experience:

- Two and a half years Diploma in Healthcare Administration.
- SCFHS Registration/License.
- No Experience Required.
