Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at Fraser Suites Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a vital member of our pastry department, you will have the opportunity to create exquisite desserts and pastries that delight our guests while upholding our commitment to culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods in line with hotel standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across all pastry products.
  • Develop and refine pastry recipes to enhance the menu offerings, incorporating local flavors where appropriate.
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper ingredient storage and rotation.
  • Adhere to all food safety standards and HACCP protocols within the pastry section.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to innovate and introduce new pastry items that align with guest preferences.
  • Support and mentor junior pastry staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.
  • Assist in conducting training sessions and implementing structured learning programs for the pastry team.
  • Maintain all pastry tools and equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Contribute to menu planning and costing for pastry items.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and food safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a team.
  • Creativity in developing new pastry recipes and presentations.
  • Proficiency in chocolate and sugar work.
  • Knowledge of Middle Eastern pastry traditions is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
