Oriental Chef

Under the general guidance of the Executive Chef or his delegate, we are looking for an Oriental Chef to oversee procedures, service performance, and product standards, directing all aspects of the operation in the Oriental Section.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

1. Planning and supervising production of all cold and hot Oriental dishes including à la carte orders for all outlets, buffet preparation for all outlets, banquet and outside catering, ensuring that they are fresh and prepared in the correct manner.
2. Ensuring a high level of cleanliness within the Oriental Section by maintaining a hygienic and organized environment fit for food production.
3. Coordinating daily and weekly menus and functions, and determining the type and quantity of mezzeh to prepare.
4. Dressing according to kitchen standard dress code; i.e., chef's jacket, checked trousers, apron, name tag, socks, and safe shoes.
5. Maintaining standards of hygiene, sanitation, and safety.

What We Need From You:

1. The ideal candidate must possess a High School Degree and a Culinary Arts qualification.
2. Basic food hygiene certificates.
3. At least two years of experience in a similar position (preferably in a five-star hotel).
4. Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken, is essential; knowledge of other languages such as Arabic is a plus.
5. Basic computer skills will also be appreciated.
