Operations Manager

You as an Operations Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will oversee and optimize operations across four key areas: Planning and Fulfillment, Production, Industrial Engineering Development, and Warehouse Management. Your role is crucial in ensuring efficiency, coordination, and productivity throughout the factory. You will have full accountability for running the mid-long-term strategy and day-to-day operational execution focused on material availability, capacity readiness, and organization meeting market and customers’ expectations.

Your responsibilities

1. Accountable for ensuring all Factory Operation functions are organized, staffed, and directed.
2. Build an effective, capable, and high-performing organization.
3. Develop talent, review organizational effectiveness, perform competence assessments, and facilitate continuous skill upgrades.
4. Manage Operations to deliver GIS Dammam Factory level RELEX KPIs in line with company expectations and deliver 4C targets for Operation: safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
5. Responsible for on-time project execution.
6. Develop and implement strategic plans for material forecasting to ensure timely availability of resources.
7. Coordinate closely with feeder factories to align supply chain processes and schedules.
8. Analyze market trends and production demands to adjust forecasts and inventory levels.
9. Oversee assembly and testing processes to ensure high-quality production output.
10. Manage vendor relationships and workforce hours to optimize production schedules and costs.
11. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce downtime.
12. Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency and reduce cycle times.
13. Conduct time and motion studies to identify areas for process optimization.
14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles.
15. Manage materials handling and ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines.
16. Optimize warehouse layout and processes to improve storage and retrieval efficiency.
17. Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and excess.

Your background

1. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in operations management within the energy or manufacturing sector.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills.
4. Strong knowledge base in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
5. Continuous Improvement background with a minimum of Green Belt and Black Belt Certification is an advantage.
6. Risk Management with practical experience in FMEA and capability to investigate root causes of failures and create control plans.
7. Good knowledge in Quality Management systems & Operational Planning & control in production environments.
8. Experience with SAP or MES system software is a plus.
9. Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
