Operations & Maintenance – Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer - Microsoft & Email Archiving

Job Description

A Senior Systems Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's infrastructure, providing expert-level technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing innovative solutions to optimize system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

1. Align with Business Goals: Familiarize with the company's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
2. Work closely with other departments and clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
3. Forecast future network needs and plan for capacity expansion.
4. Design and implement new infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, and operating systems with required applications.
5. Plan and execute infrastructure and operating systems upgrades and migrations.
6. Ensure that infrastructure solutions align with organizational goals and requirements.
7. Manage and maintain operating systems, server, storage, and applications.
8. Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
9. Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
10. Provide technical support to end-users for infrastructure-related issues.
11. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
12. Document and share knowledge with the support team.

On-Call Responsibilities:

1. Being on call to respond to urgent infrastructure issues outside of regular working hours may be required.
2. Anticipate future needs and develop a roadmap for modernization.
3. Prioritize activities and monitor and respond promptly to incidents.
4. Optimize performance by tracking metrics and fine-tuning systems.
5. Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation on solution configurations and operational procedures.
6. Prepare reports on incidents, system performance, and solution effectiveness with root cause analysis.
7. Stay up to date with the latest technologies.

Technical Skills

1. System Administration experience includes (Windows, Linux system administration, SCCM, DHCP, VMWARE, MS Exchange, MS Azure, DNS, 365, Ali Baba cloud, Oracle Cloud, backup administration, Virtualization system, Active Directory).
2. Knowledge of server administration and troubleshooting VMware ESXI.
3. Knowledge of Cloud AWS and Azure as administrator.
4. Knowledge of network protocols and network infrastructure.
5. Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
6. Experience with server and storage technologies, such as virtualization and cloud computing, Domains, Active Directory, Cloud solutions, and ITSM tools.
7. Knowledge of IT best practices and tools.
8. Strong troubleshooting skills.
9. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Azure, MCSA) are preferred.
10. Knowledge of databases, VM backups, Data Domain, Tape Libraries.
11. Solid knowledge of backup and restore skills (using Veeam, Veritas).
12. Client backup configuration requirements for backup agents.
13. Good knowledge in administration and create reports on the reporting tools.
14. Backup software integration with most used applications in the industry (e.g., backing up MS Exchange, SQL, Oracle, VMware).
15. Understanding of backup and recovery concepts and troubleshooting.
