Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Diligently completes assigned responsibilities, while functioning within established hospital, division and EMS guidelines, standards and directives, under the immediate supervision of the EMS Station Supervisor.
  2. Accountable for providing high quality patient care, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, based on a competent understanding of the patient/customer needs, within direction of medical oversight i.e. EMS head division and well-established policies, procedures and protocols.
  3. Provides attentive patient care in a thorough, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  4. Maintains an awareness of the patient's physical, medical, and cultural needs at all times.
  5. Maintains a working knowledge of current trends in EMS and new developments in the healthcare field.
  6. Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately.
  7. Accountable for operating and maintaining EMS vehicles and equipment properly, to avoid damage or breakage.
  8. Eagerly exercises detailed attention to duty, while efficiently completing obligatory requirements.
  9. Ensures EMS vehicles, equipment and supplies are in a constant state of readiness.
  10. Consistently adheres to and implements EMS administrative and Medical Control directives.
  11. Willingly completes administrative and clinical functions as assigned by the EMS Station Supervisor.
  12. Actively participates in EMS staff meetings.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned by the EMS division Head which are within the post-holder’s qualifications and capabilities.
  14. Consistently attends skills maintenance programs to ensure professional proficiency.
  15. Maintains professional licensure and required certifications.
  16. Participates in the development and presentation of educational awareness programs.
  17. Attempts to improve communications in English/Arabic.
  18. Assists in the orientation and professional development of other EMS personnel.
  19. Attends professional development courses and participates in professional research programs.
  20. Attends all educational activities in the EMS department.
  21. Participates in all educational activities by presentation and participation.
  22. Provides continuous feedback to improve working environment and patient care.
  23. Continually strives to deliver a higher level of quality care.
  24. Utilizes medical supplies properly, to avoid wastage.
  25. Assists in situational problem solving and in the utilization of limited resources and supplies.
  26. Anticipates ways to assist other staff members, while encouraging a cohesive teamwork approach in the workplace.
  27. Works in harmonious partnership with members of the EMS team and other health care professionals.
  28. Promotes a positive attitude within the EMS team while responding to the needs of fellow team members.
  29. Always maintains a professional image and proper grooming.
  30. Punctual, arrives on time for duty, organizes daily tasks and break times efficiently and effectively.
  31. Assures the Medical and Mechanical Readiness Status.
  32. Follows up with the Attendance Status, Scheduling.
  33. Makes sure of Documentation Completion.
  34. Oversees Ambulances Inventory needs, and orders what’s needed.
  35. Monitors compliance to policies and procedures and ensures corrective measures are applied if policies and procedures are violated.
  36. Monitors Ambulance teams and relocates upon Operational needs.
  37. Authorized to issue a Warning Letter against Unobligated Staff.
  38. Validates Payment Process.
  39. Receives Ambulance Transfers Calls, and dispatches, commands Ambulance Teams.
  40. Solves Transfers Issues During Shift.
  41. Participates in Departmental data quality, analysis, and KPIs.
  42. Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients, as “the patient is the center of our care”.

Other Job Functions:

  1. Perform all duties and tasks in line with the Person Centered Care values.
  2. Adherence to all policies, plans and programs within the Fakeeh Care.
  3. Perform duties as per the code of conduct requirement and ethical standards as outlined in the HCM policies and guidelines.
  4. Complete mandatory education as per the requirement at least one month prior to expiration.
  5. Maintain up to date knowledge on information relating to quality and safety, accreditation, policy management and document management systems.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor in Emergency Medical Services or Higher Degree.

Experience: 3 years experience as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic.

Language: Bilingual (Arabic and English).

Required Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Accredited EMS Licensure from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, DOT EMS Vehicle Operator Safety (EVOS).
