Oliver Wyman is now looking to recruit a Transcreator to join our Saudi office and be part of our IMEA team!

The role is based out of Riyadh.


Job Overview:


As a Transcreator, you will join our team as a talented Translator with strong editing and transcreation abilities. This role combines linguistic expertise with creative writing skills to adapt and localize content for diverse audiences while ensuring grammatical accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guides. You will enhance the readability and impact of written materials, ensuring cultural relevance and maintaining the original intent and brand voice.


Key Responsibilities:


Transcreation:

  1. Adapt and rewrite creative content to resonate with the target audience, preserving the emotional tone and intent of the original message.
  2. Ensure cultural relevance and appropriateness in all adaptations by understanding the cultural context of both the source and target languages.
  3. Write with a deep understanding of audience preferences and behavior.

Post-Editing:

  1. Review and refine translated content to enhance clarity, coherence, and accuracy.
  2. Correct grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors in translated materials.

Collaboration:

  1. Work closely with multiple stakeholders to align messaging.
  2. Provide constructive feedback to peers and contribute to team discussions.

Quality Assurance:

  1. Conduct thorough quality checks on all post-edited and transcreated materials.
  2. Maintain consistency across translated and adapted content.

Project Management:

  1. Manage timelines effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  2. Communicate progress and any challenges with the project team.

Research:

  1. Stay updated on industry trends, cultural nuances, and language developments.
  2. Conduct research on local customs, preferences, and trends.
  3. Explore specific subject matter and terminology relevant to projects.

Soliciting Opinion:

  1. Engage stakeholders and team members to refine ideas and messaging.
  2. Use insights from target audiences to fine-tune the drafted message.
  3. Incorporate feedback from clients or target audiences.

Leadership:

  1. Act as a guardian of quality by reviewing and refining translations.
  2. Actively participate in team discussions and creative brainstorms.
  3. Take responsibility for the accuracy and effectiveness of assigned projects.

Culture:

  1. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment in the translation process.
  2. Share knowledge with colleagues and seek opportunities to develop new skills.

Ethics & Compliance:

  1. Ensure that all transcreated content is truthful and responsible.
  2. Follow legal and regulatory guidelines for content creation.
  3. Proactively address potential compliance or reputational risks in messaging.

AI:

  1. Utilize AI tools to brainstorm, refine, and proofread transcreated content.
  2. Leverage AI for repetitive tasks while ensuring cultural relevance.
  3. Share insights on how AI can assist the team in the transcreation process.

Skills and Attributes:

  1. Creative Writing: Proficient in crafting engaging and clear transcreated content across various platforms.
  2. Collaboration and Communication: Skilled in working with stakeholders to deliver cohesive creative solutions.
  3. Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in grammar, spelling, and tone.
  4. Versatility and Adaptability: Capable of producing both long-form and short-form transcreated content.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of professional translation experience.
  3. Native proficiency in Arabic and excellent command of English.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Experience with CAT tools (such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or similar) is essential.
  6. Strong editing skills with experience in providing feedback.
  7. Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
