Observability Engineering Consultant

Observability Engineering Consultant (Elasticsearch)

based in Jeddah.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 5 years of related experience in Elasticsearch.
2. An official Elasticsearch certification is a must.
3. Experience with Java software development on Linux-based systems.
4. Advanced/Fluent/Native Arabic Language.
5. English Language Advanced level desirable.
6. Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
7. Candidate should be based in Jeddah or willing to relocate to Jeddah.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Design, deploy and operate Elasticsearch cluster.
2. Experience in Elasticsearch stack, working with Elasticsearch-based architecture, design, and development including Kibana.
3. Experience with establishing the proper Security settings for the Elasticsearch clusters.
4. Familiarity with Cloud platform, specifically the permissions inside of it, required for connections to Elasticsearch.
5. Scaling and layout of indices to meet performance goals.
6. Optimize Elasticsearch configuration to achieve required performance.
7. Ability to provide ongoing operational and maintenance support for existing systems and applications developed using Elasticsearch.
8. Ability to perform application bug fixes, fixes to reports, correction to business rules, and/or assists with the completion of scheduled Enterprise Architecture (EA).
9. Ability to provide technical support, captures new business requirements, and identifies process improvements.
10. Experience with various database tools Oracle, MSSQL.
11. Predicting issues and corrections needed based on operational metrics.
12. Evaluating the structure of documents with an eye to query performance. The documents are necessarily deeply nested to maintain complex relationships inside them.
13. Evaluate index mappings for performance regarding the deeply nested complex structure of the documents with an eye to query performance.
14. Evaluate a large number of sources and make recommendations on sharing and index layout with respect to other vectors besides time.
15. Performing backup operations for an Elasticsearch cluster using best practices and following government security requirements.
16. Development using Agile Scrum methodologies.
